I was born and raised in Germany in a small city next to Nuremberg called Fürth in southern Germany. My mother and her entire family were originally from the area while my father was brought to the area by the US military as an air traffic control trainer. Being German-American has become a huge part of my identity growing up and even now plays a huge role in my identity. I am very interested in music, specifically Hardcore Punk as the scenes political and social messaging really speaks to me and gives me a sense of belonging.

Growing up going through school I have always had an interest in history, while I had a liking for other subjects as well I have always felt most intrigued with history and historical texts as a whole. During my senior and junior years of high-school, I wanted to load up on as many history APs’ as I could because I loved the subject so much. During this time is also when I got interested in becoming a teacher due to many great teachers around me guiding me and spurring me on with advice and helping me pursue my interests. I am very interested in cold war and colonial African and Asian history with a minor interest in 19th century industrial era history as well as I find these eras and places to have been very unique and ever-changing with outcomes that still have effects to this day.

I am currently pursuing my bachelors in German and History at the University of Mary Washington with hopes of either entering the educational field or working in the field of history such as archival work.
